  • Purchased from the winery and stored at 55 degrees. Opened 30 minutes ahead, would have benefitted from a short decant. Poured blind, this looked and tasted far younger. Nose of pretty flowers, blackberries and just touch of alcohol that disappeared over time. Full bodied with plenty of structure and fruit to last another 5-10 years. Rich blackberry with some licorice. I don't drink many wines like this anymore but this was one of the best I've had. Solid 93 points

  • Cork came out normally. Color was nearly black. Couldn’t ask for much more from a 2001 Petite Sirah- blackberry, some licorice too, this was full bodied, tannins smoothed out. Has many years to go. Dynamite! From magnum purchased direct from winery.

  • Opaque color. Very deep dark fruits in the nose and flavor, blackberries, black currants, plums and licorice. Rich, full bodied wine with nice complexity, well balanced and a long finish.

  • PNP. A well done fine Durif. Tarry black fruits and currant with some Oak. The color was strong and the wine did not change over the course of several hours. There was almost not sediment. The tannins were still thick but smooth. Not sure if this wine would improve in future years but it certainly was far from the end of its life. 9 years ago I thought this wine would improve over the next decade. Technically it has. Perhaps it needs another decade?

  • Big, rich and thick. This was a great bottle. Drinking perfectly right now. Most of the tannins have settled out but good for a few more years.
