  • Wow. So thick. The wine is a golden yellow color and has a large, beautiful, luscious candy smell on open. On taste, it's well balanced acidity makes it very smooth. Yet its full of fruit. Still, all I could think about was how thick this wine was, how it almost coats the whole mouth. I suppose some might be less interested in this but I was captivated. Certainly one of the best bottles of white wine I've tasted and I wonder if 20 more years would be even better.

  • The same as the 2/21/14 bottle.

  • Light yellow color. Aromas of limes, honeysuckle, lanolin and minerals. Ripe, beautifully structured fruit in the mouth with great balance and a long, lingering finish. This classy and delicious wine coated my palate with an oily texture and almost had the depth and complexity of a Grand Cru Burgundy. In the sweet spot of its prime drinking window.

  • Of the three vintages of this I have tasted ('03, '04 and '07) this is the best by far. Medium maize color, starting to take on a mature appearance. Starts out with a nose of buttered brioche, a sweet bubblegum aroma, and subtle hints of flowers, gingersnaps and soap. On the palate this shows lemon and mint, underpinned by stony flavors. As it warms up and aerates, this starts to take on a mature flavor profile of honey and salt. This has a flavor of spicy grapefruit on the finish, with lingering acidity. In total, this is a bit less concentrated and forcefully flavored than my favorite white Burgs. However, it has much better depth and tonal range than the prior vintages, and is all in all very pleasant.
