  • This was much better than I expected. Surprisingly, it improved after opening, and was better two nights later than it was the night I opened it. Complex nose, with some secondary notes like tea and cigar box to go along with the pretty blackberry and lead pencil aromas. Nicely balanced and silky. The tannins were a bit dry on the first night, but by the third night, they were soft and integrated without the wine having lost any of it's fruit. This wine threw a very heavy sediment. At it's peak now, this wine is a huge success for a '97 Oregon pinot.
