  • {screwcap, 13.5%} As pure a red as I've ever tasted. Positively pristine. It's ruby, with a crimson tinge. The nose is moderately intense; stuffed with ripe plums and the purest earth. It's seasoned by chocolatey oak; the palate feels all packed in, like some high-density space object. The overwhelming impression is one of purity, not size; in fact despite the immaculate and very obvious ripe fruit, it's the fine grit of the tannins and gentle rasp of the acid that linger on the finish, which isn't all that terribly long at the moment, but has great balance and line. Medium-bodied, and with some warmth too, but not alcohol-derived. This will just be all potential for the next ten years.

  • Wow. Rich earth and leather, some red berry fruit still present. Drinking perfectly - fantastic wine from a fantastic vintage.
