A lot of Wines at Tommy's Clambake (again) (Tommy K's.): This is their basic Syrah. Still on the young side but showing a nice complexity. Black raspberries and black pepper on the nose with a bit of gamey meat. Juicy black raspberries on the palate. Layers unwind in the glass. No hurry but drinking well.

What an amazing treat. Pulled out of my cellar. Wine is dark with no signs of age. Nose is so complex, it goes on for days. This is the type of wine that made me fall in love; with wine. Very floral, like a warm summer day in Santa Barbara. Palate has a perfect melting feel. Savory notes and Blueberries. Reminds me of a restrained run-rig. Awesome. Gentle giant?Drank over 3 days in which it held and evolved beautifully.

Aerated with a Vinturi and decanted for one hour. Nose of blackberry, cherry, red licorice, pepper, vanilla, and spice. A jammy dark fruit core with soft tannins leads to a velvety smooth, long finish. A fruit forward style with good structure and balance. Thick, layered, rich and full bodied. Paired well with corned beef and cabbage.
