Raisin and chocolate on the nose. The palate is fresh and bright yet sugary and sweet with baked fruits and a little hit of alcohol. Really long with a sugary, nutty finish. Great value.
The Sampler Spring Tasting 2013 (Islington): Sweet, raisiny nose but the palate is stunningly fresh. Complex with a sweet/savoury balance to the flavours. Very good. 17/20.
Cask 909 Appearance: orangey-brown mahogony. Transparent.Nose: warm, spicey, attractive, alcohol tingle, fruit cakePalate: juicy start, medium-plus body. rich, rather then sweet. Plenty of tannin. Bitter alcohol kick=: delicious, quite full on. . Much richer then equivalently priced port.
