Community Tasting History

Community Tasting Notes (average 88.5 pts. and median of 88 pts. in 11 notes)

Tasted by Bumbanian on 4/28/2010: Drank at party w/ chili. Earth and leather notes more dominant on this bottle, the best of 3 bottles on the evening. A bit cagey and subtle, but well integrated with a lot to offer. Finish opened up with some time in the glass. (174 views)
Tasted by mmurry on 4/25/2010 & rated 87 points: I decanted this wine about 4 hours. There was loads of dark fruit on the nose, mainly black currant and black cherry. I also got some earth mixed with pepper. At the end was some mocha and vanilla. The palate had very strong tannins. It also had quite a bit dark fruit combined with dirt. The finish was primarily mocha with a slightly bitter pepper flavor. (201 views)

Tasted by jcha24 on 4/5/2010 & rated 88 points: very dark in color, extremely dry on the finish. probably not a rebuy for me. (230 views)

Tasted by Bumbanian on 3/7/2010 & rated 89 points: Smell: Cedar, blackberry, dust, and toast. Very nice

Taste: Full of big flavor but watery/chalky mouthfeel. Blackberry with leather notes on the mid-palate. Dry woody finish. Drank without food, would be better with some meat or a strong cheese. (367 views)
Tasted by Anonymous on 2/13/2010: {ST} P&P, virtually no air time. Color dark red with some black tones, medium-plus body. Conditions did not allow for proper assessment of the bouquet, so no score. However, I did detect little aromas of black cherry, minerals and garrigue. On the palate, it was showing more earth and minerals, but notable depth to the black fruits in the background. Good concentration, medium acid, big firm tannins cry out for more air or bottle time. Strong finish of dark fruit, pepper, and minerals. B+, good value at 18. (519 views)
Tasted by spotaha on 4/15/2009 & rated 88 points: Starting light, nice finish (742 views)
Tasted by David J Cooper on 4/9/2009: Deep red. Nice floral raspberry nose with hints of mineral and vanilla. Bit sweet but balanced with great tannin and acid. Very nice. (676 views)
Tasted by Anonymous on 3/9/2009 & rated 88 points: Medium ruby, clear throughout. Pronounced nose of floral, red fruits and sweet spice. Similar palate. Medium to full body, medium to high tannins and acidity with a medium finish. Drink or now. Very good. (686 views)
Tasted by jdunnuck on 12/1/2008 & rated 91 points: Domaine Boisson: Pretty damn impressive, this comes from 45 year old vines and is a blend of 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 10% carignan and the vineyard is closed/walled in enough to warrant the clos designation. On the nose, this offers up sweet black cherries, raspberries and perfumed floral notes mixed with minerals and maybe even a hint of barrique. This really fleshes out with air and shows fantastic, pure, rich fruit. The palate is medium to full bodied with rich fruit, a stony, mineral core, nice acidity and a medium to long finish. Balanced, well made wine appears to be a trait of this producer and this is worth seeking out. (740 views)
