Generous, perfumed and almost flowery nose with violets, raisins, and surprisingly dark fruit for a Volnay. Spicy oak character. There are some green notes as well. Forward, but not very elegant. Medium-fullish body. Good concentration. Some hard tannins. Oaky, succulent and perfumed. Lacking some grip. A mintiness of almost Aussie character (!). Tasted blind, the perfume could be a sign of Volnay, but it was rather full, a bit clumsy, and not very delicate or balanced. But good wine drinking well.
