This wine evolved in a positive way for about an hour after opening. Lots of funk and rotting leaves at first but then the Vosne spice emerged along with plummy fruit and a closing note of toast. Drink now or hold for a few more years.
Mature red cherry and berry aromas with lots of Asian five spice. Clearly classically Vosne. similar flavor profile, but best on its approach with a slightly short finish, perhaps a bit hollow in the middle. This was less interesting, more tired when tried again after it was open several hours.
Dark purple; earthy, animal, berries and wood nose; minerals; spice; mid-body; balanced; good tannins still; rich classic finish. w/roasted stuffed quail. and w/ Jacques Cacheux 2002 Vosne Romanee Les Suchots
