Not decanted. Clear garnet color. Initial bouquet of prunes, figs, stewed red fruit, tapenade. With air, the bouquet gained freshness and purity, steadily improving over two hours. Medium body, balanced, seamless, delicious.
Afraid I had missed window, but pleasantly surprised. Dark brick red; leather and spices on the nose; medium body with a bit of dark fruit (blackberries) but mostly green pepper and herbs; nice lingering finish that brought notes of coffee. Interesting wine... too bad it was my last.
PnP at party for D&D. Thought this might be over the hill, and it is probably past peak. But it was quite nice. Very smooth with mature red fruit flavors and some earthy/gamy notes. Our last bottle -- if you have some of this, drink fairly soon.
