Very different from the last bottle I had of this, which was stored for 15 years by a friend (this was an auction bottle). Hardly any fruit left. Nice nose and decent acidity. Not much of a finish. Past its prime unless you have a pristine bottle.

Opened for my daughter's 18th birthday. Garnet colored with definite bricking. aromas of earth and mushrooms. Same on the palate. Smooth and round with some acidity on the finish. Definitely past it's prime, but enjoyable nonetheless.
This was the wine of the night (for me). Popped and poured. If I drank it blind I would have bet my life that it was a Bordeaux....the nose was a dead ringer for it. Smooth and perfectly integrated. At peak and I thought it could go another 5 years.
Bouquet of plastic bandage. Flavor starts out as rubbing alcohol, then sweet cat pee (from a diabetic cat), and finally, a warming sensation in my stomach. Wine is definitely passed drinkable. Poured the bottle out.
