Deep purple, completely opaque. Pronounced shiraz aroma of tar, smoke, oak, earth, some complexity. Full-bodied black fruit style, plenty of power but some elegance. Moderate tannin but fruit predominates. Coats the palate, staining. Alcohol present but not too hot or out of balance. Nice long full aftertaste, hint of anise. Excellent now, may not gain, but should easily last several more years.
Drinking amazingly well. Much better than past bottles of this wine. Saturated black hue with aromas of blackberry and mocha. Velvety tannins, full bodied without a sense of heavyness. Lingering close. Lost of black fruit notes with hints of sweet tobacco.
