This bottle was from the Cohn Vineyard (I didn’t see a separate CT entry for just this vineyard). In a word - magical. Transports you to a stunning, sun-drenched, carefree day in Sonoma where all is good. Magnificent at age 29, and if you’re luck enough to have these, enjoy into her 30’s! Delightfully multi dimensional and alluring on the nose, proving out the W-S aging potential. Muchas gracias JC. Only thing missing would have been some fish tacos from El Molino Central to accompany this beauty.

Burgundy Focused Evening at Dave's: Man these are consistently great. What a classic! The nose takes an hour to fully open up but once it does there is a broad spectrum of restrained aromas ranging from sweet to sour to spicy and savory: orange peel, stemmy spice, cinnamon hearts, salami, moss, and rose petal. Just gorgeous. The palate is high in acid with virtually no tannin and sweet red fruit entry. I really love this style.

1993 WILLIAMS SELYEM RUSSIAN RIVER VALLEY PINOT NOIR- this was a strange bottle for me; after noticing the brown rim around the edge, the nose had a really offensive veggie character, but then the taste would have nothing of it and gave only pure pleasure; it was full bodied and equally full of tasty mature red fruit that just kept unfolding; past mid palate, there was more coming in and hanging on for a grand climax; I kept going back to check if the nose would blow off and it never did even a smidgen; I forgot the nose and drink it.

Dark fruit, earth, iron and menthol. It is starting to show some secondary character. Drink up.
