A wine in decline. There is lemon remaining but there is also an unbalance to the wine. This has become acidity over smoothness and the finish is a little cardboard like. At 10 years (using dog year analogy) this has seen its best days.

light gold. Very high acidity, fresh lemon, mineral, tight, did not open too much over a couple of hours. Is this the same wine I had last time? The tannin dryness of oak is there background note of petrol. Next night - Wow, eucalyptus, ripe lemon, mineral, subtle clarified butter

One of the many benifits I get from CT, is tasting notes from other CT members will pop up and remind me it is time drink a particular wine. A five year old CA chardonnay, this was lovely, lemon, melon, minerals, still good acidity and no signs of decline. Paired well with crab stuffed musrooms and fan baked potato.

A+
Superb balance with nice long finish. Hints of stone fruit, great mine reality. Some honeydew melon. perhaps even a bit of mint in the finish...
