I went through 5 cases of the 95 because it was so good and cheap, so it was perfect for parties and became known as the house wine in our household. So it was not with happiness that I greeted the WOTY rating from the spectator which tripled the price. The years have gone by too quickly, and I was left with one last bottle, and so last night we enjoyed it. Wonderful california wine and if you have, it's still got time. A slightly sweet note, this is mouth filling, well integrated, and luscious. It's not getting any better than this. Philosophical note- I debated- maybe I will try to find some. Decided not to- I will always remember it as an excellent wine that provided two decades of pleasure and went out of our lives on a high note. There are so many other good wines out there. But if I went somewhere and someone served it, I would take a very full glass.
Impressive! Bordeaux like in every way. 20 years young and I bet it could go another decade. Smooth velvety aged with plenty of fruit and lucious red opulence. The cork was perfect. This beautiful blended CAB was designed to last a lifetime.
I have had this wine stored in my vinotech since I bought it in 1999 from a restaurant. I cannot believe how good it still tastes. Velvety on the tongue, lots of fruit and lots of flavor. It had that musty old Bordeaux taste and smell that I love so much as well. Definitely one of the best wines ever made.
