I am looking forward to the 2007 series from Leitz. This is his simplest riesling, but it just gives us a hint of what is to come from his top vineyards. This simple riesling is exactly what you pay for. Crisp lemons and lime, loads of fresh citrus, minerals and granny smith. Excellent for simple sushi and enjoying on its own.
VDP Rheingau Riesling Review 2009 (German House, London, U.K.): This one screams: Drink me, drink me, drink me. The carrot-like fruitiness becomes really juicy, reminding me of pomegranate seeds without its skin. It's not complex nor does it do a lot when the credits are rolling. But who cares when you just saw a blockbuster with a giant bucket of popcorn?

citrus and apples on the nose. Clean, bright, and tart taste with lemon and lime and just a hint of apple. Nice chalky finish and a tiny burst of added flavor at the end.

Opened and served right away. Clear, pale lemon in colour. Nose of 7up, white and citrus fruit. Medium to high aciduty, medium bodied, medium finish. Flavours of sweeter citrus fruit and nice minerality. Chalky mouthfeel. Medium sweetness. Very good.
