From an enomatic machine at the Sampler. Olives, herbs, a bit of vegetables on the nose, not too expressive. Quite lean, restrained fruits on the palate, balsamico with raspberries. Tannins can be felt but they are mild. Some alcohol heat on the finish. (90-92 range) I don't understand the high price for this.
Dark centre with just a hint of discolouration around the rim. Dark fruit, wood smoke, charcoal, savoury spices, dried flowers - very complex and intriguing nose. On the palate very firm and tannic, quite powerful with good fruit and freshness, but lacking a bit of generosity at this stage. Very persistent and long. Needs time. 93-94+
Tasted alongside the other La-La wines. Nose is less expressive than La Turque and La Mouline, feels a bit closed. Notes of spice, clove, herb, earth, pepper, quite brooding, plum, cassis, burnt tar, espresso bean. Meaty, brash, tarry, massive.
This is a sublime wine. Earth, stables- that animalistic character, hay, horses, and dark ripe fruits, late summer forest- earth and flowers. The fresh pepper had just molded perfectly into the wine! The wine is in perfect balance but tannins still very present. Give this wine some years and it might be even better! Big, big wine but still subtle and very complex!
