Very clean, relatively light and elegant. Interesting astringent fruit with some mineral notes. Very good but pricey. Wonderful with braised short ribs.

2005 Red Burgundies: Nicolas Rossignol (Vin Vino Wine, Palo Alto, CA): Strawberries on the nose with a hint of barnyard. Palate is a little tight and tannic, but there's nice acidity here and hint of sarsparilla. Seems like a few years would do it good, hopefully let some of the fruit emerge.

Dark, dull purple. Rich, slightly raisiny red fruit. Full bodied, dried out red fruit, acid, short acidic red fruit finish. Past its prime.

I loved the focused, clean mid-palate with laser-like fruit.
The fruit went well with the mineral notes on the finish. Really well done. Drink now

Grand Burgundy Tasting (Knightsbridge Wine Shop (Northbrook, IL)): Astringent nose. Not my fave, but still a nice wine - just not for the price.
