Community Tasting Notes (90) Avg Score: 91.9 points

  • Coravined (fresh bottle), no decant

    Visual: straw yellow/viscous/clear

Nose: in the beginning some mushroom notes that pass away quickly. Evident maderisation (oxidation) but not in a bad way. Absolutely in its tertiary phase of life. (Over)ripe exotic fruit (mango/pineapple) followed by honey/tarte tatin.

Taste: slightly sweet on the palate but balanced nicely with the acidity. Again honey and exotic fruit notes even marmelade. Definitely needs some air to open up!

Final: agree with other comments to not keep this longer. As time (1h+) progresses loses its strength although the after taste is acceptable mainly because of the good acidity. Nonetheless, great wine that was at its best probably 2-3 years ago.

One fresh bottle 2007 left so either drink it up or risk it to year 2027 and see what happens at 20 years of life!

  • Light golden with an orange tint. Honeysuckle and orchard fruits. No maderisation whatsoever. Medium to full bodied. Off dry. Succulent pear and cidery apple with lowish acidity but excellent finishing soil à la Clos du Bourg. A bit loose but still really good. I would not hold this longer.

  • Excellent recent notes from Dr Wine nail this one. It's drinking marvelously at the moment. Honey and orchard fruit on the nose, along with a savory elements like cut grass and clay. Relaxed and generous on the palate with medium weight, just barely off-dry but really without much perceptible sweetness, and exquisitely balanced acidity. Really a treat.

  • Full yellow. Honeysuckle and pear. Deep, off dry flavors. More mellow and mature, less bright and energetic than another bottle we had recently.

Fresher and more succulent fruit the next night.

  • Deep yellow. Honey, honeysuckle, and pear. Off dry, full bodied, fabulous texture, pure orchard fruit, cleansing acidity. I'd say it's pretty much a "mind's eye" example of Demi-Sec at a perfect stage of maturity.
