  Second Sunday Group: 2008 Ken Wright Pinots (Fontina’s Italian Kitchen (MiY)): Double blind. Opens with notes of red berries and earth, along with tobacco and herb notes. Has some tannin to it, along with noticeable acidity, and flavors of red plum and macerated red berries. As it sits, the fruit becomes the dominant quality, at first perhaps cherry but more raspberry I think. The fruit is bright and shows good ripeness. Balanced. 92+ pts.

  King of the Willamette Valley for a reason. All cherry focused and tannins are just so mellow. Elegant. Beautiful. Expansive palate. Touch of earth and forest floor notes.

  Just startling to brown at the edges. Mature but not old, nice balance of elegant fruit , good acidity but not tart , smooth and even finish. Synthetic cork. Beautiful bottle of Oregon Pinot.
