I bought this for $26.95 at some unknown point in time in the early 10s and promptly forgot about it in my EuroChef wine fridge for 7 years and then the ancient temp controlled wine cellar in my new house. I Coravined my bottle today and let it air out for 30 minutes. I was skeptical, but it poured a gorgeous garnet with slight bricking towards the edge, and a clear rim. After an hour decant it has blueberries, berry bramble, dark fruits, smoke, bacon fat, and floral notes on the nose, red fruits on the attack with blackberry, white pepper notes and spice, good acidity and well integrated tannins still present, a medium finish. Absolutely delicious. Astonishing value syrah.
Bought at auction, as opposed to first 2 bottles which were bought locally. After 2 outstanding showings, this most recent bottle was a bit over the hill, albeit still enjoyable. Dark prunes predominant, with loss of some of the more exuberant riper fruit from previous samplings, and EtOH (14.5%) much more prevalent than I remember. Maybe this bottle was not optimally stored, but would consider drinking soon regardless.

Last ‘07 and it’s still really good. I’m sure these grapes go into someone’s much more expensive bottle these days. Neyers did a great job with the energy, purity, and savor here though. An underrated producer with realistic prices.

Drinking surprisingly well for not especially pricey Syrah more than 10 years old. Plenty of blue/black fruit left, with something of a cool climate Syrah bright acidity on first opening. After a bit of air it got even more complex, with meaty, gamey notes coming out.
