Tight cork, but on first pour this tastes like it turned. Since I had no plans to make salad dressing, I gave this some time and air. Improved a bit, but you would never know this is a pinot. Has nothing that you make you identify it as such. Guessing this is simply past its prime. May have been interesting at some point, but I'll never know.
Much fresher and more lively than the previous bottle - this was full of ripe fruit with a medium to full body and a smooth creamy texture. Nice, deep red fruit flavors with some spice and earth. Not spectacular, but very solid with zero faults and a lot to like. Unbelievable bargain.
Lighter style of pinot, nicely aged. On the nose some cola and citrus with hints of earthiness. On the palate this is light/medium bodied and smooth with cherries, cola and earth, spicy finish and good acidity. Nicely integrated at this point. Good closeout deal ($15) but probably not worth normal winery price ($34).... 88-89
