  • (13.5%) This one leads with green pepper and chocolate dust on the nose. In the mouth you are greeted with dark fruit flavors with barrel overtones that come across as juicy on the palate. The mid palate brings a bit of acidity to maintain balance before giving way to a soft tannic, peppery finish. Not a great wine but certainly quaffable and 50% of your $4 goes to a good cause (fighting Aids!).

  • Very simple quaffer, could be central valley fruit. A bit like one of Charles Shaw's (Franzia's) first bottlings, it's simple, pleasant, but nothing to take note of. Dominated by sweet fruit, very little, if any, acidity, and no tannic edge, this is a wine to drink cool, now and as a quick gulper. Came from a wine club, and amost worth its price of $15, but not by much.
