Cork was in perfect condition. Upon opening a hint of age aromas, and also with the first few sips. With >30 mins of air exposure these elements dissipated and the fruit components same to life. Well balanced for such an old Chianti. Paired exceptionally well with stuffed cabbage seasoned with cumin, coriander and paprika.

From my Dad's cellar. Dark in color, extracted with tar, leather and roasted plum flavors, along with an off-putting chicken bullion quality that became less pronounced with air on day 2. Agreeable, but nothing special.

Decanted with heavy sediment, this bottle has been laying down in my cellar since 2005. Simply delicious, plenty of old world flavors of leather, earth, truffles, tree bark, balanced by plum, cranberry, burnt orange. Obviously ready to drink, but I see no rush.

Good but expecting much more. Fruit still there but it just seemed as if this wine wasn't much to begin with. Mediocre QPR.

Decanted,
dark deep red garnet, no bricking
Very aromatic, berries, plum, cherry, leather,
Full of flavour, full bodied, and still kicking.
I was expecting this to be over the hill, but was still very good, maybe past it’s peak, but not far.
