Color: dark inky core -> fairly dense deep ruby rim. Simple nose of plums, blackberries and perhaps a little ground mace. Smooth, polished palate of sweet plum and cherry fruit with a touch of charcoal. Wine-strategies nailed this; open, smooth, serviceable wine that should appeal to the crowd, but just needs a little more soul.
An inky dark wine with structured tannins that relaxed after opening, revealing a full-fruited but taught young wine that easily held up to an aged Rib Eye. Will be curious to try again in a couple more years.
