(Ridge Ruby Cabernet Monte Bello) Group's #6 (my #3) – 65 pts.; 0, 1, 2, 2 – Dark red violet with pale meniscus; narrow cherry, caramel and soap nose; rounded tart cherry, cassis palate with good body and a vanilla note; medium finish 88+ pts. (faded away after an hour)

The wine had good flavor but the body was washed out. Past its prime.

With Michael Lehmann and Brett Raven in Brett's office after work. Medium ruby, strangely lighter at the edge. Michael says the nose is corned beef and cabbage, with Coleman's mustard – ditto on the flavor. I don't see how -- I smell rose petals and little else other than soft fruit. In the mouth, it's very tannic and bereft of fruit. It's downright weird in the finish – maybe it is "swill," as Michael said. Not pleasant at all. 5-9-3-2: 69/100.
