Burgundy Bistro night (Newk's hideout, Bucktown, Chicago, IL): Nose: The nose is rich, yet expressive with dark red cherries, plums, blackberries, raspberries, licorice, meaty notes, pepper, and some liqueur. There is a lot of complexity and this has developed beautifully.
Taste: The feel is Full bodied with medium acidity and resolved, medium tannins. There is a plushness to the feel along with excellent depth and tones of dark red cherries, blackberries, raspberries, licorice, meaty notes, pepper, and some liqueur tones.
Overall: This is a real treat. It has held up and developed beautifully over the years to where it shows off the rich, dense, black fruits of the region while also providing that meaty, savory quality that I really enjoy from the grape.

This is in a great spot right now; wonderful primary/tertiary balance. Possibly the best '04 Max I've had. Drink Now and over the near term.
