Bastille Day at Mas Farmhouse; 7/14/2011-7/15/2011 (Mas Farmhouse, New York, NY): A polarizing wine at the table. While some thought the richness and roundness took away from its focus, I enjoyed the concentration. Heavy on the bread and yeast aromatics, with an underlying floral element. Palate was broad and expansive, completely mouthcoating. Good depth and power. Some remarked that it tasted more Pinot heavy. Long battonage? Loved the weight and depth.

IMW Annual Champagne Tasting (Christie's Auction House, NYC): i loved the attack of this wine -- it had great minerality, green apple, and toast. the midpalate went downhill and i was not a fan of an oxidative, disjointed finish. While this wine did not put it all together, there were some nice things going on.

2010 Institute of Masters of Wine Annual Champagne Tasting; 8/30/2010-8/31/2010 (Christie's Auction House, NYC): Minerality, sea shells and clean citrus characteristics with a touch of yeast. There's a big citrus component that carries through the entire distance on the palate with some steely flavors that linger. This is just a classic expression of Blanc de Blancs
