Popped and poured with a group of Oregon Pinot fans. The fruit is hanging on and the tertiary flavors are not overpowering. The 13.9% alcohol is evident and I would still describe this as a bigger style of pinot even at 15.5 years old. No need to keep cellaring but I do think it can hold at this spot for 1-2 more years.

Medium red color. PNP, split bottle over 3 hours plus. Opened this for dinner and enjoyed over the evening watching "Judy". This is in a perfect spot for me and what I love about Oregon pinot. This is sensous and serious, filled with earth and spice, dark fruits and tobacco leaf. Built around a core of deep cherry and earthiness with the accent of blue fruit, tobacco and sous bois. Very much medium bodied with more black cherry and dark berries on the palate, even a touch of blackberry cobbler, very earthy, great spice notes, sous bois, fine tobacco, round moderate tannins and a long finish. This shows the cool fruit of the vintage in a very refined style. I'll drink this all day and every day. 92+pts.

In OC at a family dinner, drank this one after an 06 Beaux Freres Upper Terrace, slow oxed for about 20 minutes.
From prior notes: "Medium/translucent ruby color. Nose of red fruits, raspberries, dusted cherries, spices. Medium bodied..." This was a little more expressive (from memory) than the last bottle. Floral and cherry were notable as was baking spice on the mid palate.
Very nice wine, interesting comparing to the 06 Beaux Freres, 07 vintage in general not being as elegant as the 06. Crowd was split on the two wines, about half preferring the Bergstrom.

For 2007, this either has legs or dregs. This has lots of tannins yet, it can use some additional aging to soften, but some of the dark fruit may get lost. Most other 2007 took a softer approach and are drinkable now without some airing out. Having said that, this has a good backbone of concentrated dark fruit of blackberry and loganberry with dark bakers chocolate that may benefit from several more years of aging. Best bet if you still have some is wait another year and see if it has softened and decide from there.

Good, fully mature, more fruit forward than the 2012 Ken Wright McCrone
