Drank from a magnum, properly cellared since purchase. Wow, this wine was good. Ripe black cherries and a hint of licorice. Good acidity, and a little heat. For being 10yrs old I was expecting this to be over the hill, but it wasn't-maybe the magnum prolonged it's life? I also think martinelli's pinots are overdone, but this this wine wasn't. Very enjoyable.

Drank from a magnum. Nose: Dark fruited with forest floor, celery, and aged cedar. Palate: Dark fruits, damp earth and initially an almost pruney quality showed that (thankfully) burned off with aeration. Almost candied fruits and big alcohol (even though only 14.5%; seems higher) and a medium length finish. This Pinot is for the new world crowd. Perhaps I waited a little too long to open but I prefer far more subtle (and red fruited) Pinot than this exhibits. True to Martinelli form this wine is over the top, and while having some interesting attributes on the nose, is not my preferred style.

knockout nose jumping from the glass, dark berries and baking spice, the fruit seems to fade a bit inthe mouth, otherwise fantastic
