Ridge Petite Sirah ages so beautifully that I feared that I was opening this too young, despite the bewildering notes from 2007 proclaiming this wine on its way down. It is in a great place right now. A beautiful nose of red fruit, wood spice, pepper, chocolate. On the palate the plummy fruit is fading, giving way to spice, tar, dried flowers. Excellent structure, with mouth coating tannin and high lingering acidity. This has the structure to last another ten years, though the fruit will fade before then. Very good.

This wine is listed under two separate titles but its the same wine. Funny how the scores are slightly different.....
Anyway, I can't award this the magical 90+. Its just a little too thin at this point. Its nice, fairly well balanced, with juicy acids running around the sides of your mouth.
But its mature and starting to fade. Not much left.

Great juice. and still in outstanding condition. Lovely low alcohol wine, showing purest shimmering fruit, very soft tannins and juicy finish. It doesn't hit you over the head, and you don't really notice how good it is until you realize that you just drank nearly the entire bottle over dinner. Mocks the modern trend of overripe, highly extracted fruit bombs. Ridge, please keep on making them just like this!

Showing beautifully even at this age. fruity and spicy with supple tannins. Probably should get drinking while the drinking's good.
