(First of 12, bought on release so probably affordable at the time). A solid Volnay that needs 30 mins of air to come together. Very drinkable but i doubt it will evolve a lot from here. Will stay there for a while though. Will try again next year.

Dark cherry color. Nose of musky cherries, spice. Dark rich raspberry fruits, tar, menthol. My first impression was southern Brunello. This needs lots of time, but may prove to be an outstanding value in Volnay down the line.

Chez MG: after opening still very closed, needs air to unfold, red fruit.

Warm and powerful, not really a typical Pinot Noir from Burgundy

Still solid. Tons of spice on nose with flowers. Rich raspberries, smoke, earth on palate. Coming around now. Very good finish.
