This is exactly as advertised: baby Schramsberg. There is nowhere near the depth, richness or complexity of the vintage wines, but the character is clearly the same, if a little lighter here, more playful. It's still $20, so it's not actually a lot cheaper, and at this price point other CA sparklers like Roederer and Scharffenberger offer similarly broad distribution and perhaps slightly higher quality, but it's a nice sip all the same.
Napa Valley Winner Dinner @HKJC_Racing Beas River Horseshoe Grille 👍 Food was fantabulous 👍👍👍. This is the cocktail party wine with which we have no problem sipping a glass, possibly two, without having to tell porky pies (aka lies) to the host about why we are not drinking. A reasonably well-made, relatively easy sipping wine that does not offend the hors d’oeuvres of the evening, but does not inspire a call to our wine merchant to acquire a case.
