This is ready to go! Decanted for sediment and let breathe 1 hour. Super smooth, lush, lots of dark fruit, smoke, some tar and lightly oaked. Long finish. Had with Ribeyes. Great now and should be fine for a a few more years at least, but why wait?

Still very big wine after 15 years. It's starting to develop port like qualities. A lot of dark fruit still and oak. Not sure what will come of this by more aging. It could go more to the port side or develop further. I would drink now rather than see where it goes.

Bumping up the score a bit from 4 years ago, because this one has rewarded me for letting sit. A nice long nap has turned this from a deliciuos, fruity/oaky wine, into a THICKER wine, with a LOT more to say, still with fruit and oak of course. But the depth is off the chart. And the weight of this wine settles somewhere really far down (bottom heavy?). The fruit is ripe and more condensed - I won't stay stewed, but concentrated anyway. And the oak is opening up and giving lots of cocoa and dry spice, plus glycerine, herbs, everything. And you know what? I don't think this one is done. I'd say at least 3 years of solid enjoyment at this level, and if you like it a bit softer and refined let it go 5-7 more! Have it on it's 20th birthday if you like.

(Woodward Canyon Artist Series) Winemaker Rick Small changes the composition of this blend each year, but the ’06 is mostly Champoux Cabernet Sauvignon (86%), along with 13% Syrah and 1% Merlot. Flavors range from ripe blackberries to coffee, chocolate, and mocha, all wrapped in silky tannins on a lengthy finish. Drink a bottle now and buy more for cellaring. Terroir: Champoux Vineyards

Past it’s prime. Nice flavors and body, but overly acidic finish.
