Decanted. Purple in the glass. Nose of black/red fruits and pepper. On the palate, unctuous blackberry and strawberry flavors with nice, round textures. Black pepper and leather. Some earth tones. Acidity is medium, but the fruit is still kicking in here to stand up to a meal. Probably at its peak right now. Really nice.

StewartWent's recent note suggested drink sooner than later. Upon review of my previous notes, it looks like this is as good a time as any to pop my last bottle.
Medium-dark ruby, transitioned to the rim. Dusty, plums, garrigue, herbs, kirsch, a touch of v/a. Still fresh, and vibrant on the palate, with a medium finish, waning acids. This will be one of the bottles for today's braised leg of lamb, should be just right. Most certainly time to enjoy now, not later. It was fun to follow this from pre-sale, release and into its autumn years. 14,5% abv, thru 2014

Still in good touch but might lost its way a little in the last couple of years. Some classical notes, think meaty gravel notes, but some funk and fat suggests this wine might be a touch beyond mature. Good drinking at the minute.

Post Wine-Ark Supper with the boys - April (Restaurant Atelier, Glebe Point Road, Sydney): Red berry fruit with slight black pepper and leather notes coupled to herbs. In the mouth the pepper is more dominant but the flavours outlined on the nose are still all there. Nice.
