  • Nose: strawberry rhubarb, dried cherry, dried plum. Leather, ash and some very light eucalyptus.

Taste: dehydrated red fruits - strawberry, cherry and raspberry. Leather, cocoa and shale.

Poured from a magnum and decanted 2 hours. We had this with thanksgiving dinner. The color has not turned as much as I expected it to. Quite Burgundian in style. I love revisiting these old Brown Ranch Pinots from Saintsbury.

  • What a lovely Pinot. Brill and I both immensely enjoyed this flagship from the Saintsbury brothers.
Nice nose of dried wood, dark red berries, cherries, and LEATHER.
Lovely balance. Excellent soft tannins tie this red's layers together.
First berries, then earth, then leather. Real interesting.
    Definitely would recommend.

  • Light ruby with pink rim. Aromas of vanilla, strawberry, and currant. Medium-bodied, showing lots of fruit. Lush and somewhat soft in the mouth. Tannins integrated quite well. Moderate finish, 30-35s, with red berry fruit.

  • This wine was bursting with authentic, fruit-forward ripe aromas. The flavor is intense but controlled, with a ton of red fruit held in balance by a firm backbone and sufficent acidity. Finish is complex with many subtle notes.

  • The first time I tasted this wine, I tried to buy an additional 6 bottles. It was that good. However, it seems to have suffered from time in bottle. The nose was a bit barnyard, and the first sip, tart. Should pair well however with roast chicken.
