Deep red. Dark plum and cherry, pepper and vanilla. Whiff of sea shore. Rich plummy fruit. Well concentrated, showing cherry syrup and just a little oxidation (thanks to SoCal heat). This wine, properly stored, should gain complexity and perhaps integrate the oak.
I enjoyed it. Some licorice and hint of berry on the nose. Very balanced taste with a hind of dark berries and a touch of spice. For my cost at under $20...nice pick up.
Dark and potent. Bacon, salt, molasses and cassis :). This is a dark, in my opinion, over extracted syrah. If you like big, powerful syrahs, this is for you. The other meaty flavors are so powerful, one wouldn't classify this as a fruit bomb.

I like this MUCH better 2 years later - the alcohol has leveled off and it is drinking very nicely now right after opening. Just need some time!

First day was OK, nothing special; letting is stand a bit, however, turned it into cooking wine. Lot18, you misled me on this one...
