Drunk with fried Halloumi salad. Bright mid-garnet. Fruit has mostly faded leaving mainly secondary and tertiary aromas - herbs, some raspberry notes. The 15% alcohol gives a bit of heat to the palate. Has very much moved into its fully mature phase. Moderate complexity and length - solid and steady overall.

Opened two hours before dinner. Absolutely fabulous Gigondas with wonderful herbs and red fruit mixed in layers. This one is really, really coming together. The disparity between the cellar tracker lay people’s comments, and the “professional” evaluations is relatively stark: perhaps because they were tasting the wine but it was very, very young? This wine doesn’t just have ageing potential: ageing is a necessity?

Very nice Gigondas with a while to go just yet. A very very big wine indeed. Proof that a difficult grape such as this can achieve greatness ? Lovely structure tat garrigue herbs. Nice structure very fine tanins for a Gigondas. Like all Gigondas a bit short on the finish?

Dark and dense colour. Smells of port wine, candied peel and Christmas cake. Big, sweet and concentrated mouth feeling. Real punch here. Still young.
