Nose is like rotting vegetation, though it does have a backnote of grenache character. Palate finishes shrill and tannic. While other folks have described it as "thin," I think that comes from the shrill finish, because it does have plenty of ripe fruit lurking in the background -- it's just that the awful finish takes over very, very quickly. Methinks it has a dekkera problem! Yuck. Not good, and not a repurchase.

While I agree that this is a bit thin, it has some redeeming qualities. The tart cherry and just a hint of barnyard. This was not reveal until I both aerated and decanted. I would spend $13 on this again for an everyday kind of wine.

This is the wine equivalent of a suede sofa covered with sand. The very initial taste of lush berries was immediately overrun by an overwhelming dusty/gritty palette. The fruit is round with decent acidity, but I cannot get over coarseness of this wine. Also a tad thin and short on the finish.
Day 2 - got a little smoother overnight, but lost complexity and started to taste a little flat. With 3-4 years I can see this being more in the 86-87 range

Good development with notes of burnt sugar, spicebox, dark ripe fruits and garrique. Rounded and full taste, mature, very user-friendly. Yummy.

On the thin side for a 2007 CdR. Not offensive, but not worth $14.
