Decanted an hour. This was an attractive aged Cali Cab that should continue to evolve. Modest nose of black fruits and charcoal. The palate is well balanced and classic feeling in style with flavors of black currant, tobacco, earth and cedar coming through into a nice medium finish. I liked the interplay of fruit and earth elements here and while I don’t think this will be a particularly long lived or complex wine it’s attractive now when you want a cab that won’t break the bank.

Opened this bottle and tasted over 2 days contrasted with a 2013 Hall. This opened with a 1/8 inch sediment on the cork-good sign. It opened with dark fruit and oaky on the nose. It was very soft and earthy with dark cherry, cocoa and vanilla on the palette. Very smooth and rich and got better in 3 hours. Great value. Last of my 2006.

Has the nose of an older more mature wine. Body is full of mature fruit and oak with some heat to body. Not sure age will benefit this wine but will age gracefully from here. Drink over next 3-4 years.

Had this after tin man so it had no chance. Tobacco on the nose. Some acidity. Weak finish. Single note.
