Community Tasting Notes (1) Avg Score: 87 points

  • Great aromatics: while it started off a bit alcoholic, the Rioja spices and tobacco soon came through. A bit of coffee as well. Both the coffee and tobacco showed up in the palate---but seemed a bit tired and a bit smoky with some of the coffee bitterness at the end. Tannins had faded as expected. It evolved over the two hours but the nose was always the most interesting. Hard to know how to score; simply don't have that much experience with Rioja with this much age.
