AP 23 06. Interestingly enough, the AP number differs from the version Fisch and Rayer reviewed (24 06). This GK bottling sports the Trier Versteigerung sticker and was purchased from a reputable auction house, but I'm still curious about the discrepancy.
Bottling number aside, this is stunningly rich. So much botrytis it practically reeks of cinnamon and Chinese five spice. The flavor pungency suggests a beerenauslese (more concentrated even than the 2006 Berkasteler Badstube Beerenauslese from the same vendor) although I wish I opened a standard GK bottling from this vintage alongside to compare. Honey and more of a "grapey" flavor than the high-botrytis 2006 offerings, although the spice reminds me more of Prum's Himmelreich bottlings.
I tend to shy away from inflated scoring on upper-Pradikat wines just because they leave a bigger impression, but credit is due where credit is due, and Prum did exceptionally well in this case.
