Seemed quite mature. Lots of 15-20 year old right bank character. Lacking a tiny bit of grip and freshness with pan-fried veal but great with old hard cheeses (mature Gouda and very mature Red Leicester). Seems a little better with air (last glass now). The mature nose has blown off a tiny bit and the structure is more obvious. There is a slight sherbetty feel to it.

No detailed notes. As before. Leather and cassis nose. A strong linear freshly acidic midpalate. Not obvious to me that it can evolve further. Some very fine sediment in the glass.

Some white mould on top of cork. Expressive and inviting nose of leather, cassis, violets, with an intruiging cheesy note. The attack is a touch on the acidic side and the overall effect is lean/fresh. Good red fruit, black fruit, blueberry, spice. I decanted for 1-2 hours but longer would be better. Needs food. Tannins grainy. Suspect it will improve.

Good. Garnet-brown with some edge fading. Solid core. Nose is juicy black fruit, initially bubblegum but then mint, leather and more grown-up flavours. In the mouth the acid and fine-ish tannins are well in check and everything is medium, & well-weighted. Initial attack is very much blackcurrant jam, but on exposure to air the fruity notes have savoury overtones, there is toast, and the dark fruit and plum aromas get wound up with a bit of tobacco. Medium length; will keep - and improve - for a while yet. I think. We just hoovered up that one...

A little late on this bottle. Best after ~30 minutes and faded in the 2nd hour. Nice with grilled steak and veggies. Drink up.
