A very nice wine from Castello di Bolgheri with fine dark cherry and plum fruit, some spicy licorice from the Cabernet, tobacco from the oak barrels and Italian garrigue flavors. Nice fruit, almost no tannins, soft, silky and juicy, balanced acidity, well integrated oak and a dry (= not sweet) sensation on the palate that makes it a classy Italian food wine. This is definitely not made in a sweet and modern Coca Cola or chocolate style, but a rather traditional style, something I like a lot. Ready for consumption and I don't think this will improve with additional bottle age. - 89 points
I really enjoy the wines of Bolgheri and this one did not disappoint. This is a well made wine with great red fruit on the palate. Opened up nicely through dinner. Well integrated. Very silky mouth feel. This will probably age well but no problem drinking now. Pop and pour to notice the transformation over time or decant for an hour.
