  • Fresh apples, green peppers, a hint of caramelized sugar.

Super light & tastes like an an apple juice that sat out in a warm car for far to long. Little disappointed. Was hoping for some of dat farmhouse funk.

  • Bottled 12/2014, best before 12/2017, 4,5% alcohol.

Deep and intense golden yellow color. Ripe, juicy and sweet nose with aromas of red apples and some apple core. Very dry, crisp and quite complex on the palate, but with a bit thin mouthfeel. Flavors of very ripe and slightly bruised red apple, slightly bitter stringency, some spicy farmhouse character, and a hint of earthiness. Dry, crisp and quite long finish with very light and mellow flavors of ripe red and yellow apples, some leather and a hint of vanilla.

A nice farmhouse cider that feels a bit thin and underwhelming for the style, but shows some redeeming qualities with nice freshness and understated complexity. Not particularly memorable example of the style - usually the ciders are lighter with some residual sugar providing the body and richness, or dry with more robust and rustic character and the alcohol providing the body and power. At only 4,5% and Brut in style, this feels a bit stripped-down. Somewhat overpriced at 8,60€ for a 75 cl bottle.

Loose bubbles; clear. Smells and tastes like apple juice, rather than cider. At 4.5%, this is a pretty light cider. Medium-light bodied on the palate. I'd like to have this with a couple years of age on it, to see if it would develop some earthy/sweaty/funky characteristics, which I think would make this an interesting drink. As it is now, pretty boring --- not bad, just boring.
