Lunch with Deron. Nose of inky violets, plum and a little barnyard. Absolutely integrated tannins, fresh and quite a lot of acdity, plums and black cherries on the medium length finish. Went great with food and no need to hold on much longer though no rush for remaining bottle.

6:45, double-decanted back into bottle. Fair amount of fine sediment. I didn't get to drinking it until about 9:00 pm. I don't feel it was showing its best then unfortunately. Dark purple/plum colour. I could get the plum, kirsh, currant fruit underneath but there was a big layer of Brett, very horsey, though not in an entirely unpleasant way. Very well-balanced, tannins present but very polished with a long finish. I won't make the same mistake with my other bottles.
