9 year since the last tasting note on CT on this wine, unfortunately cannot really add to the praise here. Pnp. Starts promising, Transparent garnet in the glass, no browning just a translucent rim. Initially a merely medium bodied wine, was checking the label as it tasted like 13%, max 13.5% alcohol but the label says 14.5%. Besides a light menthol note on the mid palate, I thought initially that this could almost go for a very good 97 Bordeaux (which was a cold and wet vintage in Bordeaux). With more air there is however this flabby sweetness on the mid palate creeping in which significantly reduces the drinking pleasure in my eyes. Besides the sweetness, the mid palate remains however slightly hollow and lacks concentration with fine to medium drying tannins. The finish remains clipped from opening the bottle until several hours later. Around 91 upon opening, with more air somewhere around 87/88. Did not finish the wine, and will see if the rest in the bottle is still alive when taken out of fridge 24h later.
If you are looking for an Australian Cab that really tastes like Bordeaux, just buy a Bordeaux, there is plenty of choice at any price point...

Heavy cassis with a hint of caramel and the tiniest touch of cinnamon. Powerful tannins, well mellowed with a beautifully lingering finish. A pleasure to drink.

Big blackberry front. Full flavor. Hints of cinnamon. Getting Brickie at the end. Tight finish. Past it's peak but still amazing
