Stunning power & elegance. An iron fist in a velvet glove. Screaming violets & a hint of eucalyptus nose. Boquet garni. The purest meat jus aromas. Lithe & profound black cherry & raspberry fruit. Substantial, deftly integrated acid with fine tannin. Drinks a little hot. Ridge really really really should have continued making this wine. Best days yet 4-5 years hence. Better on day 2.

Generally- unchanged from prior note. Poured blind for friends in resto/wine biz. Was too cold from spending too much time in my wine bag. So the tannins were pronounced & speculation centered around original Inglenook Cabernet. After the wine warmed & gathered air, blind tasters moved to Syrah. So there's a lesson in proper temperature when serving. Finally, the wine became everything I loved about it previously. I think it has 5-8 more years ahead & will wait accordingly. But yes - this is very enjoyable now.

Outstanding. At 16 years young this wine was mature but still with a long life ahead of it. Smooth, balanced, savory, minerals, earth dark fruit. Great effort.

Dark, foreboding syrah. Good concentration, leaning towards the ripe side. Wild berries, some oak showing. Just a touch floral from the 6% viognier. Should last for some time, but hard to say if it will improve. Liked it, didn’t love it.

Needs some air, drink now or in the next few years to be inside peak.
