Pulled this bottle at the end of a meal to sit alongside the 2007 Switchback PS. Both did well, the latter took a lot of air to shed off the aromatic of heat (which it seemed to successfully do), yet the Carlisle drank pretty well with no air. Lighter toned than the SR, with dark bitter chocolate and solid. Didn't seem tannic or coiled instead really good in the moment.
This was a big boy. Let it decant for 1.5 hours. Black, inky colored. Alcohol at 15% was more than I like, but they managed to keep it still integrated enough that it wasn't out of place. Fruit was nice, if not extraordinary. A good, lush, juicy wine that demonstrates how tasty petit sirah can be.
