Had with outstanding grilled 5 Dot ribeye. Black fruit, early harshness that dissipated; at end, plums, hint of birthday cake, lingering aftertaste. Irregular, but enjoyable.

Opened and started sipping right away; still a pleasant nose of raspberries, floral notes and cigar box. Tight at first but it opened up and had surprising body for a '97. The tannins are fully integrated and the fruit has come to the fore. This wine is a delight and is a credit to the aging potential of Alexander Valley cab. Looking forward to the next bottle but won't wait too long.

Had with grilled wagu ribeye. Not a great wine but quite nice. Black fruits, strong tannins, reasonably harmonious.

Oak. Toasty cherry with some cab fruit. Not bad for a $28 19 year old cab. Still has a few years left in it.

A great bottle unfortunately marred by TCA. Not enough to make the wine undrinkable but enough to spoil the fun...
But underneath that, the body, structure, balance and flavors of the wine suggested that an untainted bottle would be great - as others have noted.
